============================================================================ JZINTV -- Joe Zbiciak's Portable Intellivision Emulator ============================================================================ (Note: This file applies to the pre-MacOS X port.) Welcome to jzIntv. First be sure to read the main README for this project. WARNING: This documentation was whipped together in a hurry. Email me (tlindner@ix.netcom.com) if I leave something out. Important Info -------------- jzintv homepage: http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv Author: Joe Zbiciak (intvnut@yahoo.com) Credits: Lots and lots. See the home page! Macintosh Port: tim lindner (tlindner@ix.netcom.com) Quick Start ----------- I set up this port using Metrowerks CodeWarrior Pro 4. It shouldn't be difficult to change to Pro 5 if you want to. This is a multi-step build process so bear with me. 1) Get the AsgardESS source from Aaron Giles: http://www.sirius.com/~agiles/ Unstuff and move the two files: AsgardESS.c AsgardESS.h Into the :src:plat:Asgard: folder. AsgardESS is the sound library I use to push the samples from the emulator into the Macintosh Sound Manager. This library is not under the GPL so I can not distribute it in source form. 2) Compile the MakeTable program. The project file is located in the src folder. After you build the application it is moved in to :src:cp1600: Now run the application "MakeTable" 10 times with 10 different argument lines: fn_cond_br.tbl :tbl:fn_cond_br.c fn_dir_2op.tbl :tbl:fn_dir_2op.c fn_imm_2op.tbl :tbl:fn_imm_2op.c fn_impl_1op_a.tbl :tbl:fn_impl_1op_a.c fn_impl_1op_b.tbl :tbl:fn_impl_1op_b.c fn_ind_2op.tbl :tbl:fn_ind_2op.c fn_reg_1op.tbl :tbl:fn_reg_1op.c fn_reg_2op.tbl :tbl:fn_reg_2op.c fn_rot_1op.tbl :tbl:fn_rot_1op.c formats.tbl :tbl:formats.tbl.c 3) Build "Makefile.CodeWarrior.mcp" (located in the src folder). Open the file in CodeWarrior and choose "Make" from the project menu. It will then build an application in the ":src:bin:" folder. Documentation ------------- The 'jzintv/doc' directory contains all the documentation the jzIntv project has to share at the moment. Warning: jzintv/doc/jzintv/source.txt is very, very, very, very out of date. ROM Binaries ------------ You don't have any? Go buy an Intellivision Lives! CD, you cheapskate! Go get it at http://www.intellivisionlives.com/ , ok? Or better yet, build a ROM dumper. In any case, we're not going to encourage ROM piracy. A note about Joe ---------------- There is no way this port could not have been done if it were not for Joe Zbiciak. His expertise and his code is what made this possible. His is truly an excellent emulator which my port does not (yet) do justice to.
